Hi everyone.

I wasnt sure where to post this, so I hope this isnt too off topic.

Im about 2 weeks off finishing a short film (25 mins) The subject is pretty silly, has an 80's horror vibe.

I normally don't enter my films for competition/festivals. But I thought I might aswell as I've spend a long time on this one. I wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where I could find a run down of competitions/screenings throughout the year. I am based in the UK but dont mind converting material and sending DVD's off to the states either.

I was hoping to do a mass blitz, forget about it and then move on and make something new. I just dont know where to submit it!

thanks in advance

Karl

There are literally hundreds of festivals. The big ones, the ones that would do something for your career, are SXSW, Sundance, Slamdance, Toronto, Berlin, Cannes, New York (NOT NYIIFVF); but those are very very tough to get into.

You might want to take a look at this, too.

thanks everyone

My film isnt that good! It's too fickle and insubstantial for anything big - but I'll check out all the ones posted and see what seems suitable.

thanks for your help everyone, I just needed a start.
