WOW! ...how did this movie fall below my radar??

I was browsing my local mom/pa video store that loves to carry indie movies,
and by chance i saw this movie and it looked interesting, plus an amazing cast, so I picked it up not expecting much. I went back home, threw it in, and then was glued to the TV for two hours. It's a black comedy/drama about life in a seemingly perfect suburb. Right after I returned it, I went to Frys and bought it...

I was surprised that it wasn't reviewed that well. Also, I showed it to my brother and he didn't really like it, but then again he liked 'Legally Blonde 2' so what does he know??

One of the best movies I've seen in a long while, the cinematography, acting, story, score... were all superb. Anyways, if you like the trailer and it looks like your piece of cake, then you should definetly check it out!!!

i saw this not too long ago. Cant say i hated or liked it. The dialogue was a bit shotty in a couple parts. Glenn Close was a perfect fit for that role. The cinematography was nice, your typical "dark comedy" feeling to it, reminded me of Happiness with its vivid colors.

other than that, i didnt think it was that special of a movie. The ending seemed to be written a couple days before they had to shoot it. Quite disappointing.

I liked this movie alot. I hated the video game thing they pushed "chumscrubber" and felt it was completely unneeded for the story but liked the movie as a whole.

The main kid did a great job and the Ralph feines was awesome. I liked the look aswell, except the special effect which looked cheeze to me.

And that girl! Gadzooks. I'm in love.

-Yeah, I get the whole Chumscrubber reference, but it did feel a little out of place, and the movie could have done without it

Yeah!! tell me about it. I'm gonna have to go see 'When a Stranger Calls' just cause of her!

It manages to be so stylish and deep in it's cinematography, and it also has a great story to it that I can relate to.

"Stylish cinematography???"
Look at the way the shots are composed.
The shot with Dean between his mother and father, anything with Dolphins in it (the perfect balance).

The symbolism in the movie is what gets me watching it over and over and over... plus the cast is wowzers.
