I am helping Jarred out on the video transport for Sci-Fest and need to get a ballpark idea of how many films are going to be submitted.

Me neither, classes have watered down my free time.

I did, however, at the start of this contest begin to play around with 3d modeling and motion tracking.

I modeled a UFO and did some compositing/masking and motion tracking with some old footage so it's not like I didn't get anything out of this contest, but I just couldn't get my ducks lined up.

I can't wait to see the films that are entered though. Something tells me there's going to be some great stuff that comes out of this. Best of luck to the entrants!

Yeah, I'm going to enter with something really lame because I have a bunch of really good excuses (I mean, REALLY good) why I couldn't shoot my ultra-cool script that I actually wrote and finished Christmas eve. But that would've taken at least three weekends to shoot, and like I said, all my time in January got gobbled up by those huge excuses. So I've now got this one last weekend before the deadline to write, shoot, and post my ultra-incomplete idea for scifest. Because, I am NOT going to be left out on the fun on THIS one! Too bad, 'cause I was really ready to actually win something this time with the cool, very shootable script I wrote.

Happy with the short... glad to be done with it. I hope the uploading and down-convert go smoothly.

And all of this in the midst of shooting a feature, working commercial jobs, and moving.

hrm... 28 so far? I'm sure we'll see a surge near the deadline, but that seems pretty low. I remember that they were estimating 50 or so for zombiefest and got 70+, so hopefully we can get at least 50 for this one. This is the fanboy in me speaking, not the compitetor. The competitor is growling at everyone who thinks about entering. But, the fanboy is a better friend of mine, so let the number rise.

I know I'm looking forward to sitting down with a big bowl of popcorn, shutting off all the lights and diving into all the films. I really enjoyed zombie fest as well.
