personally i don't think the killer should get a movie. lennon on the other hand deserves a good bio pic. IMO.

An really big reason I don't want to see this other than it shouldn't be done is that Lindsay Lohan is in it... WHY?????? :embarasse

About ten minutes ago I wrote: "Who cares about that scum." Then didn't post it because I'm sure someone will care to see a story about him, just not me. We watch movies about sick killers all the time. It's just that their victums aren't usually anyone as high profile as John Lennon. I feel like I'm struggling with this post and not making myself clear but I'll post it this time since I know more will be said on the subject and I'll be able to refine what I'm trying to say. :undecided

This guy gets a film before John Lennon? Someone's priorities are out of wack...

Totally agree there, Machinist.

However, just for fun, pics of Leto as Chapman:

Totally agree. Usually, when we have a movie based on some horrible event, it is based around the central figure. Who is more important here? Lennon or the worthless POS that killed him?

Will Jared Leto please stop acting if we promise to take him as seriously as he takes himself? I'm willing to make that sacrifice if he will just fade away.

On another note, it looks like he gained weight for the role. So he will probably get an oscar nomination. He already tried playing gay but that didn't work for him. So what's left? Let's check the list:

1. Portray a homosexual
2. Gain weight (the more the better)
3. Be mentally challenged
4. Portray someone (in)famous.
5. Play a musician (but only if you learn to play the instrument)

For women there is the added one of playing a prostitute or stripper, but these days it works only if there is nudity involved. (ever noticed that a woman's "breakout performance" is usually the one with nudity and sex scenes, preferably lesbian sex scenes?)

Sorry about the rant. Bottom line, I want Ms. Leto to go away. We don't need a poor man's Depp.

I liked him in American Psycho. But maybe its cause he was playing himself..

Paul Allen: "Well I could tell you Halberstram but.... uhh... (smug laugh)...then I'd have to kill ya....(more smug laughing)".

Pat Bateman: "Hahaha...Another Martini Paul?"

If it sells, it sells. I don't find it any more distasteful than glorifying Che Guevara.

But there's hardly no precedent to making a movie devoted to a killer, is there?

guys...guys...Lindsay Lohan is in this....thats how seriously we should take this movie.

If Lindsay wants to break out of the family-friendly mode, she will have to show some skin. Those are the rules. If they work that into the film I will compromise my principles and go see it.

Course it would have to be healthy red-head Lindsay, not pasty, sickly, skinny blonde Lindsay...

At least theres a few people who respect Che. Who wants to watch a movie about a guy that Killed Lennon? 2006 is off to a bad start for movies.
