I love the idea of randomizing the entries shown. It makes sure that people don't just check out 3 or 4 of their favorite posters, but the one thing that stinks is it (the code) doesn't keep track of the vids you've already seen.

In such a way, it makes it so you may have to keep pressing next to find a new movie. I'm pretty sure theres a few zombie shorts I never saw, simply because I couldn't get them to come up.

Anywho, just an idea. The contest otherwise is great!

Don't worry. We realized after Zombiefest that the odds ended up being 1 in 80 to bring up any given film and it nearly drove me to insanity to test the system for Jarred and check every link. The system will be much simpler for this fest. We got overwhelmed with the number of entries for ZombieFest and it really took us by surprise. I have a feeling we'll have fewer entries this time, but we'll be ready in any case.

I love you in a very manly way Barry.

I thought, considering, Zombie Fest went fairly well. The system DID show you which films you'd already watched, as long as you took the time to watch & vote what showed up (randomly), however I know what you mean about wishing it wouldn't have to keep popping up to show that you DID watch it instead of only showing the ones you've not watched yet (wow, that was a long & confusing sentence).

Anyway, Jarred's mentioned working this one in FLASH, which if it's anything like what Triggerstreet.com has got going on, will be pretty efficient & advanced.

Would the loss in quality be an issue if all the movies were converted to flash format?

I'm not sure the movies need to be converted to a FLASH format ... the only benefit out of that, really, would be if we wanted to make sure the movies could stream only, and not be downloaded. Otherwise, FLASH is pretty advanced now, so I'm not sure we'd notice much if any loss ... just depends what it's being rendered from.

How Triggerstreet does it is they've got an all flash site, but for viewing the movie you've got a choice of Real Stream (YUCK! - been a while since I've been to that site ... hopefully they've dumped Real Stream by now), or Quicktime.

Oooooooo. I wouldn't like that. Much easier to download them and watch them at leisure. (i.e. when the boss ain't around.)

I agree ... not even so much for the boss issue, but just to have on your laptop to view on the road, other locations, etc.

And to watch more than once, of course.

Rewatching streamed-only films....eats a lot of bandwidth (=money) for both the viewer and the server.
