Dimmer Dimmer Dimmer

[Whiteside Production]

So i got all of the crap from Wal-poo poo that i think is needed to build a dimmer.
-GE dimmer
-Electrical box
-Switchplate
-Shop cord

I am confused. the dimmer has 2 BLACK wires coming from it and one GREEN. i am guessing the extension coord has the same.

Here is the question. Do i cut everything apart and hook all three green wires together and then 3 blacks and the other 3 blacks? Like this?

Find an electrical wiring book somewhere, or pay someone else to do it.
