We have shot sample footage with the HVX200, 10 second files with all of the formats and we would like to post them somewhere for download. These are very large files and we have no idea where to post them or how to do it. Any ideas? Anyone that would like to it?

steve@zacuto.com let me know.

Jarred might arrange hosting, but it may be a couple of days as he's relocating between countries. Send him a line at contact @ dvx user dawt com and he might be able to take care of it.

I might be able to help but have a few questions

1. What are all the file sizes and what are the formats? How many files?

2. Would we want to host the files as they came off the P2 cards or as DVCPRO-HD QT files?

3. Would we want to convert these to Windos Media High Def files?

4. About how many downloads can I expect?

I have a few Xserve's and a bunch of bandwidth to those servers. I would have to clear it with the chairman of my department and we would have to establish a timeline of when they would be open (time and length of time) as well as limit the amount of log-in's at a single time.

I would create a web page and set them up as FTP transfers.

Let me know what you think or if you have any questions?

what a life Jarred has. "between countries." I've never been between countries, i've been between jobs, between girlfriends, between the sheets. between countries?

Hey everyone -

I check with the folks here at work and they would prefer if I did not host the files. Sorry about that I thought they would go for.

Don't worry. he'll get back to you.
I helped shoot some of the footage. Most of the clips were shot in studio....wide angle at each format and framerate. I shot most of the outside Chicago footage in slow motion at 60fps. When you guys get the footage (it will be DVCPRO-HD .mov) remember to get the free panasonic frame rate conversion plugin for FCP so you can see the slow mo. It looks pretty damn sweet.

Ah!...great Häakon, we'll be waiting for a great PC transfer, too. Noiseless as possible. That is, as close as possible from the original one. Thanks my friend! :)

Just a heads up guys...when the footage does get posted...heres some info:
We shot the studio footage in all frame rates, wide open with a 2 to 1 lighting ratio. Each clip is identical so you can compare the different formats. Most of the outside stuff I shot at 720p 60 fps.

The camera settings were right aout of the box. Normal hd gamma etc. Did a white balance and we were off.

Thank esperman!

Is it possible to also include a few short raw MXF files?

A lot of us want to try out Raylight for the PC.

thanks, Steve

Heres what I can do.
send me a private message with an address. I'll mail out a DVD with 1 slow mo mxf and 1 studio mxf for you to upload and post a link here for everyone dying to try out raylight & wanting to see footage. Nobody else ask me for this....I'm not going to send out 1 million DVDs monday morning.

No problem. I talked to Steve and Joe yesterday, but I don't think either of them have had much experience with computers and trying to explain what they needed to do over the phone wasn't working too well. I think they're also swamped with work and this isn't their #1 priority. Anyway, I'll send you a PM.

Do you need a file converter for Avid HD system? or just final cut?

Barry_Green

If you have Avid Express Pro HD version 5.2.1, you need nothing else -- it can read the files straight off the card.

Thanks again, excuse me I don't want to be polemic. The Zacuto guys couldn't figure out the whole "internet" thing, so I gave esperman my address to send a DVD-R to with a couple of the clips for me to upload. So far, that's the last I've heard... I'm sure it's on its way.
