That thing's amazing. $800 msrp? So.. like $600 and I can keep an HD camera in my pocket?

Not bad for $800, but we are talking single chip and MPEG-4 compression. This is a whole different class of camera here. It could be the WMV or the MPEG-4 compression, but I do see some artifacts in the image. Just do a pause and look at the boy's face eating the ice cream.

it also looks like it's recording @ less than 20 FPS? Or is it possibly my computer playback? (macintosh)

...not too bad at all considering the price.
Although, the shots appeared to be in overcast/diffused light, thus avoiding any chance of exhibiting harsh overexposure.
Still like what it does though. Can't wait to see the competition.

This is not by any means a machine that i useful for any professional or serious application. IT looks awful. at least the WMV did.

ITs great for people with babies and HD tv's who like to show people their babies on HD tv's instead of getting the child and bringin it to the room.... apparently. lol.

also mostpeople dont see compression artifacts. so maybe noone will care that it loosk like crap. Getting into video completely ruined the whole movie watching, dvd owning process.... when i watch a movie all i see is Mpeg compression. i hate this......
