Have you ever bought a movie for just one scene? "Five Easy Pieces" comes to mind for me. I didn't like the overall movie but the Chicken Salad Sandwich scene is gold.

Once Upon a Time in the West
For the opening sequence. There are some other small things too but that was the main selling point. I'll often plop it in watch the first like 10 minutes or so and then turn it off.
Overall I think the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly was the best and most enjoyable Leone Western film by far.

I know that Scorsese has said many times that the opening in Gangs Of New York has som homage to Once upon a time in the west but I can watch that opening everyday I love it. But didn't buy it just for the opening awsome flick.
But the opening in Once Upon A Time in the West is also great, but I can also just watch the hole Godfather Part 2 just for the end and see Micheal sitting there in that chair and looking out to the lake and think about his dad.

I love that whole trilogy. I have watched them all many many times. A Fist Full of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More seem to be just as good as the 3rd. I couldn't pick a favorite if I had to.
And Ennio Morricone's score...fahgettaboutit!

I'll second that.
I'll watch a film just if Morricone scored it.

I'll give you a hell yea for that.
I love the trilogy as well, however I find it quite easy to pick favorites. My preference begins with GBU and works back to Fistful of Dollars. The reason being that I feel Fistful borrows so heavily from Yojimbo that its almost a carbon copy. And I have to deduct a few points for that. Plus the watch that Indio carried around for his showdowns in Few Dollars More. Amazing.

Once Upon a Time in the West
Oh, awesome call. That opening scene is stunning.
As for me, yeah, I have. I bought Proof of Life strictly for the epic action sequence at the end, which is one of the most well thought-out, best-executed scenes I've ever scene in an otherwise mediocre movie.
Similarly, while at the time I thought I was buying Time and Tide because I liked it, it turns out I was just buying it for the apartment building sequence.
I know there must be others, but I'm looking at my shelf and not seeing them.

I usually buy them and then get mad at myself for doing it. I sell them and I end up buying them again...and the cycle continues. ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

I know it's not a "scene" but I heard a song in the car that reminded me I bought One From The Heart (Francis Ford Coppola) for the score by Tom Waits.

I bought Crossroads (Not the britney one) for the final scene with Ralph Macchio (channeling Ry Cooder) facing off with Steve Vai.
Awesome. But I wouldn't wipe my ass with the rest of the movie.
