This might be a Jan question....

I'm not certain, but my understanding is that there is some sort of MXF playback software that ships with the HVX on CD that would work on the PC.

If this is true, is it possible for Panasonic to post this for general download, so we can view and look at clips?

Or, would there be a legal problem for a camera owner to upload this software for the masses? Just trying to find a way for PC guys to view all formats...

It is available from Panaonic's website, but you need the camera serial number to download it.

https://sec.panasonic.biz/sav/sec-cgi-bin/p2viewer/dlp2v.cgi?mylang=EN

It isn't a "free" download for the mass public. It's also PC-only software, which is weird, because Mac offers the best editing solution for the HVX but PC users get the easiest way to handle and manipulate clip metadata.

I starting to feel there isn't anything "easy" about this camera...

Thanks Haakon... also, they say that AMD Athalon based systems are not fully supported by this player software.

All we PC guys want to do is look at the pretty pictures, then maybe get excited about the camera based on raw footage and not WM9's or QT's...

Sigh...
