How does "frame mode" work on the XL1s, GL, and apparently the XL H1?

frame mode isnt on XL H1, it was canons first attempt to make 24p or a mock 24p on digital cameras. Its a proggressive signal at 29.97. Basically the reason for it is because that .03 of the frame used to be where the color information was stored, so they took out .03 of a frame to make a "frame" mode, now with the option of 24p on the DVX and Cineframe and 24f etc.. Frame mode as become obsolete.
