Alright everybody; time for the new topic. I thought i'd make this months contest a little different than the previous.
For this contest, you MUST use two items: A watch and a photograph (containing any image). These items must have some significance to the storyline of your short. You may use these items as many times as necessary. They are in no particular order.

Heya:
Are there any standards we should be aware of? Didn't see anything in this thread or previous. Things such as codec to use or what final size we should shrink down to or even a max file size target.
One thought would be to select a codec, scale, and perhaps even a default compression setting that everyone would use to avoid problems where compression introduces problems that ruin otherwise good footage?

I like this month's theme. May's topic just didn't do anything for me, so I let it pass by.
I'd love to do something this month, but I'm awfully busy with DVX Unleashed and a job search. :P

i think that's what's deterring so many pple from entering. Masterpieces are not mandatory

The vegas thing is a different contest, not the monthly thing. The vegas thing doesnt start till the 15th, but many of you know about it anyways.

look in the vegas forum for a little sneak preview of the contest.. Sony is giving us a full Vegas 5 productions suite+DVD A to give to one of you who make the best short spec commercial for Vegas 5's new features.

Is everyone gearing up for the June contest?!?! I hope to see lots and lots of videos in there this month. Heck, I might even give it a go if I can figure out where the record button is on my DVX! (Ok, just kidding about that, but I am very new at this!)

The commercial doesnt become the property of Sony or DVXuser like most other contests.. you make it you own it. If by some miracle Sony likes it so much they want to buy it, well thats something you can arrange.

Alright June contest friends. I was completely geared up to make a video for June but I see now I only have one weekend left until the end of June! Being a full time student and working the other hours this summer hasn't given me a moment to do any filming... and I even have an idea! So I don't think I will be able to partake in this one. If only the holiday was at the end of June, then I could've worked on it when off. Maybe July... :'(

Hey Guys,
I have been watching you guys for about a month now and decided to join. I will be recieveing my DVX100A this Wednesday the 30 . I think this is a really good idea and hope to be able to participate once I learn how to use my new camera. So any way, I would like to know if anyone can tell me how to view past shorts.

No credits! Make sure there's something in your filename identifiable perhaps? Then the contest judges will modify the filename before posting links?

Not that it matters that much for my story, but I have a certain piece that would fit like a glove.
