Here are the Canon XL H1 frames from my filming I did in Hollywood at Birns & Sawyer during December 2005. There are more frames to come, so enjoy these for now.

It's best to open these in quicktime and then play as full screen in loop mode. Or you can pipe them off to a HD monitor..

Oh sure, the resolution looks good, but seriously, the dynamic range stinks compared to the HVX.

You cant really compare theos two images of the HVX and XLh1. They were taken at different times of day and the XLH1 was WAY over exposed. It does disservice to the XlH1. But the HVX screen grab looked AWESOME.

Huh! This post was about the XLH1 frames from the material filmed at B & S in Hollywood at the top of the page...

Maybe that part of the page didn't load for you... There are 16 frames from the H1 to see... Have a look....

cool.. nice grabs! (very good fruit shot).

So... you filmed in 24f. Have you ever compared footage (same subject matter), but shooting one in 60i, than one in 24f (that's 24-Frame Mode right?), render the 60i as 30p (or 24p) to compare quality?

I realize you would not be getting the 24 speed that youd want from the 60i then combining, but was interested if you (or any one else) has ever tried that.

thanks,

jg

I think you're looking at the wrong photos. Those are from two different seasons of the year. Refresh the page and see the 16 new photos at the top.

After looking at the shots in photoshop, I have to agree that the shots are quite bland, still nice though.

i kow its a quick test but i wish youy coulda lit something. its hard to tell without at least comparison to somethign. they look ok. like a grab of Z1 next to XLH1 next to HVX. For example. so we can see where it shines, and where it lacks.
