My High Definition short. “Ideals”

This film is about the ideal of fantasies and how it relates to our existence. The high definition is very system intense and often doesn’t run on most computers, so I have encoded low quality High Definition. In 720p to 360p

encoded 3 versions each for Mac and PC.

It is also based on a few events in my life. Shot on Sony Z1U

nice looking footage.

i guess some of the handheld shots could have been less shaky. especially the one where the camera went all sideways by the hammock. that made me really dizzy.

it had a pretty cool look though with a nice variety of shots and angles.

skin tones on some shots were a little orange. i think less saturation and more contrast would help.

when the girl is narrating, it sounds like she is in a small room. maybe that's the sound you were going for, i dunno?

great credits song, one of my favorite death cab songs. and good editing.

one more thing - could you explain the story? cause i didn't totally understand it.

keep rockin it, i'll definitely check out your stuff in the future.

The shots seem a little voyeur for the video, and I would probably replace the handheld shots with a dolly shot. Other than that looks cool, good idea.

I was kinda thinking the same as Omega:
when the girl is narrating, it sounds like she is in a small room. maybe that's the sound you were going for, i dunno?

If I were to get fussy from a viewers stand point (because I'm not much of a film-maker), would be some of the other dialogue audio as well, there's a scene on the bridge, where the guy and girl are taking, and his voice is clear, but then (after a rack focus on the flower i think) it cuts to an angle infront of them, and his voice sounds quiter.

I really liked the background music!

and as far as story goes... I thought it was pretty cool how at the end, it seemed as though he had either been repeating the same life and events with a different girlfriend... or perhaps all along he was going out with someone and pretending they were someone else... i dunno... cool whatever it is.
