Help . video device missing

hmm this is probably an easy fix but i cant figure it out after referring to some books and searching on here

when i open final cut pro and go to Audio / Video settings where you select video playback it says [missing] apple firewire ntsc 720x480)

but when i go to log and capture it recognizes the signal cause i can control the camera from the computer but says preview disabled where the picture should be.

any help would be greatly appreciated

try refreshing your external device for full frames
