Yea, that one is pretty impressive, but I think it shows more what great talent and good postproduction can do rather than what the DVX100 itself can give you. Nice to see some good looking DVX-keying though, and yes the footage looks good no doubt about it. It's so sweet! =)

yeah that is why i added the / edit to the title.... It has very little to do with the camera and more to do with talent as you said.

that's soooo good I can't take it! It pumps me up that there are people out there that committed to pulling something like this off. Something to shoot for is right! Let's see some more posts!

Yes, Gay Boyfriend is excellent. I talked to Ryan about the keying and how well the DVX performed and he told me that the keying was horrible--not the DVX's fault, just DV's fault. He had to take special care to light from the back to get a good rim from behind to separate the subjects from the green screen, and he had to pull the matte using something like 6 or 7 key filters in After Effects. He did a great job, though. Lots of work.

The best advice I have heard is to use a Luminance key in the dv space, the expert said the DVX should have no trouble at all with a Luminance Key - it had very clean luminance data (as opposed to the green or blue colors).
Now, I need to do some research on this, but I assume this means shooting against black or very dark background, again with rim lights etc.
Best regards,

yeah there is a lot of blue spill onto the actors, from bounced light. At any rate, I bought a DVD from the site and the dvd believe it or not includes the AFX source files so we can all pretend we are pros for a day.Not bad for 8 bucks.
