Hey y'all-

A college buddy of mine runs a marketing company here in NYC. He asked me to document and edit his lastest stunt marketing event for VH1. I think the following clip is good representation of DOs and DON'Ts with the Panasonic DVX100. The shoot was an EXTREME run-and-gun. You'll notice how the white balacing fluctuates. I tried my best to color correct some shots that were poorly balanced. Also, you'll see variant uses of the DVX100's ND filters. Sometimes they were used properly and other times they were not.

The camera was set to the stock F6 (24p normal) setting. At the very least, you'll get see funny afro-laden streakers.

wow... very nice!

I woulda locked the wb off at 5600k and maybe set manual iris and put some low zebras on to make sure your exposure wasnt too hot, but the camera work was excellent, and edit was prime as well.

Thanks!

Thanks for the compliments. Now I have to look-up the directions for locking the WB. Once I do that, I guess I can trigger indoor and outdoor settings to the A/B switch.

As far as Iris goes... Sometime it was auto and other times it was manual. The 'hot' shots are from the early morning. I guess it took an hour so so for me to clear my head an realize I had an Iris.

yeah just flick the WB to PRST and use the balance button around the corner to switch between daylight and tungsten.

"an hour so so for me to clear my head an realize I had an Iris. "

lol... i feel you. Sometimes I even forget to hit the record button before the cafeine kicks in :)
