Nice use of focus techniques there. The color looked great too, really film like. Care to share your settings with us? How did you mess with the focus so well?

Yes, yes! Please share any info you can on settings and techiques. That is something we have tried to get everyone to do when they post images and media from the DVX.

Now on to the comments:

I watched this on my wifes 'home office' g h e t t o computer. (CAN you say GHETTO?) and from what I could tell, it looked very nice. I agree with ST32, the focus was impressive and the images (especially color { curves?}).

Someone recently posted a thread asking about FOCUS with the DVX and these look very nice. Good job.

That might have been my posting asking about focuses, lol... ;D

PS: was all the color in this test done in camera or altered in post?

Hi, thanks for your comments. This camera is just fabolous. I have shot in 16 mm before (arri sr, zeiss lenses), *and imho in terms of sharpness the dvx100 performs equally or better. Color reproduction and saturation are astounding. I did not do anything in post. I achieved a narrow DOF by opening the iris, using ND, zoom all the way in, shutter speed 1/48. Cinnegama and Cinelike settings selected, master ped -7, and adjusted white balance with the color temparature setting. When using master ped down, the colors are too saturated, so I decreased the saturation. BUT, what made the whole difference is the light, as you know giving the limited latitude of the digital format, the less contrast the best, in this case, the sun was one hour from setting down, and the light was very soft. Diffused light will give you these results and will help you open up the iris to achieve a narrower dof.
About the focus, no mistery, I just remembered the number I wanted to get to, and I stopped pulling focus when I got there. At the very end it accelerates itself, I wanted a more gradual effect, but anyway, it does look nice.
