Heres a frame grab (http://www.cinematographerreels.com/bleedingthrough43.htm)from a recent music video I worked on. You can find other shots, films and a low res. demo reel with some footage from the DVX (and film) at:

P.S. And if you like what you see, give me a call. I freelance as a DP on independent productions.

Top notch! I don't imagine you have any trouble finding work!
I really love that video.

Perhaps we should open up a new Forum where people can advertize for work?

Best regards,

About a job forum? I think is fine, perhaps.
I think that probably we can dedicate this forum for sharing video (as it is now) and talk about it with an aesthetics point view also and how can technology (in this case is the DVX100) improve the language of videography.

I'm sorry if my english is not so good, i'm trying to improve it, but it takes time.

Thanks. I should add that if you go to my site www.CinematographerReels.com the frame grabs from the films "John and Meg" are also from the DVX100, "Dreams Do Come True" was shot on a VX2000 with a chimera style light bank that I made for the shoot (4ft by 12 ft face...ha ha Im very proud of it) and the rest of the frame grabs were shot on film. As far as the video is concerned, the second half is pretty much all DVX100 footage. A great camera for thoughs micro budget films. Anyways thanks again and look for "John and Meg" in festival circuit soon.

Hi Brett!
Really fine demo reel! Just one question: how did you achieve these nice light beams or strobes (whatever ;o) in the bedroom scenes?! (this very blue tinted light)
Thanks in advance for sharing some tips'n'tricks! ;)

Cheers,
-Sören

To finally answer your question - the bedroom scene you speak of was shot on film which was pushed two stops to get the contrast we needed. We had to do that because we wanted to free up the camera to move anywhere in the room (no negative fill floppies) and at the same time all the walls were painted white so there was way too much bounce/fill in the room. You could do it in post...but thats no fun. Besides we wanted the stop. As far as the blue tone- thats tungsten balanced film under HMI's. Combine that with the push and you get a real beautiful white to royal blue to rich black tonal scale.

On a side note I've noticed that the DVX100 seems to have a fair amount of electronic noise whenever you push your blues too far both thru white unbalancing and if the subject is naturally ultra saturated blue in color. Love to hear peoples thoughts and solutions on anything I've said here. Thanks.

Nice reel Brett. On the noisy colors, maybe adjusting the scene file settings for chroma phase or chroma level?
