Hi,
Did a couple searches and didn't come up with anything on this...apologies if it's been asked...
In the brochure for the HVX200, it says that you can put the P2 cards into the PC Card slot of a laptop but it also says that it operates under Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Is there no Mac support for this?
Thanks,
Christian Remde

Seems its even more seamless with a Mac...
there were a few demos online that showed how super easy it is to do and import into Final Cut

The way an apple Rep explained it to me. The P2 cards can be offloaded onto a Mac via the camera's Firewire port. No direct P2 into the Mac unless you are using like a P2 store or something. So i guess the mac just functions as a more capable hard drive in this capacity.

That's old info. Panasonic is going to include a software driver with the HVX, so once you install the driver you can then put P2 cards straight into a Powerbook's PCMCIA/PC Card slot, just like on a PC-compatible.

Just buy a PCMCIA-reader if you don't have a powerbook. Saves the FW-connection on your HVX from braking down, costs less then a 'genuine' P2-reader and works just as fine.
oliver,
i've searched, but do you know where one might be that is mac compatible? all i've seen are windows versions.

Datafab makes one, but there site is flipping out apparently. Try and find some big apple retailers, they should know. Or search the apple site.

Thanks for the info...it seemed strange that it would work on a PC and not on a mac...just bought a 17-inch powerbook and would have been a little upset if I couldn't use the P2 card with my mac.
Thanks again...
