View Full Version : Quick Photoshop / Illustrator Design Contest

We have been holding meetings with the new group from atlanta "D4L", some of you might know them from the song "LAFFY TAFFY". We are planning on doing the video for their song called "scotty". Tomorrow (thursday, 8th) is the third and final meeting with them where we present the storyboard and go over the budget, and to see if they aproove. And we would like to add as many things to the plate as we can so we can get this pretty big deal. So, below me are some random low res pics that I found of them that you guys can use, to illustrate a cartoonish-looking picture of them that we could use either in the storyboard itself or just for the cover page so it gives that "Wow" effect. I would need the final drafts emailed to me as a relatively high res JPEG or straight up PSD / AI file, to:
realitycompany@yahoo.com and they are due tonight around 11pm -12am chicago time. (one hour behind new york time) so 12am - 1am new york time, ect. you get the point

I apologize for not having better high res pics. But anybody that can help out, and we use your work, specially if we get the deal, we'll work something out to help you out.

Pretty much they need help in scoring a deal with a client and having some cool looking drawing would help them out.

^^^^ yes. We have most of the storyboard finished and they are already very interested, tomorrow is the final meeting. The storyboard will be projected on a transparancy sheet like a book, and we wanted a real nice illustration for the front cover. We have graphic designers and whatnot but some how everything worked out to where we had very very little time and the designers for our company have school finals due and all kinds of things that get in the way. Right now we are just going to work on it from the second I get home for like 12 hours straight untill its done. Anybody whos work we use, if we get the deal we will definetly do something to help you out rather its a little money or something along the lines. The video will most likely be shot in atlanta, by the way.

You're really just coming here to score free production work and ideas? If I for one had a good pitch that won the bid, i'd for sure be expecting the production contract.
Sounds like you may be a tad bit in over your head to me.
If you're willing to hand over the project (or production) based on a winning set of boards, then sure i'll bite. I've done a ton of em.
PS: Don't pimp this as a "contest" on these boards without clearing it through Jarred first.

No sir, I believe you are mistaken. We have already fully created the concept, storyboard, everything down to the very last detail. I am offering money if anybody can do a very fine illustration (cartoonish) drawing of them for the front page of the storyboard presentation just to give a "wow" affect

Let me know how that little meeting went, and Id like to see the stuff you used. Im sure you didn't use what I posted, hopefully someone gave you something better.... Keep us posted!

Yeah I didnt end up using any of the submitted work. One guy emailed me some photoshoped files which did give me an idea of what font to use in front cover but thats about it. It came out to be 8 Illustrated scenes, with about 3-4 of them in 3D, and then the rest are a big collage of pictures relating to the song. All of that along with a cartoonish looking front cover with them. The meeting is tonight and thats when we will find out if we're doing the video. If all goes well I will give you guys the update on it. We will be shooting it in Atlanta, by the way. The main director (i'm the 1st Assistant Director, Assistant DP and Editor) and the DP will be going to atlanta shortly if we get this deal, to look for a film company to work with as far as getting the crew and equipment together.
