It's been awhile, but the people over at Missing Link Cinema have just posted a brand, spanking new edition of "The Adventures of Jay-Jay and Moonpie (http://www.missinglinkcinema.com/JJMP/JJMP2.html)".

It's been a couple of months since they last updated, but honestly...it wasn't their fault. The Korean animators that were working on the webcomic went on strike. After many beatings and several hours of negotiating with their union, they were able to come up with a managable deal that will ensure future episodes without much delay.

Unless, of course, they go on strike again. Their a picky bunch. As if getting paid 12 cents an hour wasn't enough to feed their families. Hell, it's a decent living if you ask me.

Either way, go check out the latest update. Laugh, cry, lose your lunch...or whatever else you do when you read comic strips.

Until then...

...enjoy.

There's not a whole lot to "get".

Think of it as an "experimental film". It's all up for interpretation. :\

Get this shit out of the Screengrabs.

(And the comic sucks anyway)

Why would "animators" work on this... it's a still image from what I gathered. Looks like a crappy one to boot.

I guess sarcasm just passes right over some people. :\

Maybe you need to have a direction with your comic. Its about "Filmmakers" correct? If it is about filmmakers make it funny for your target audience. Have them arguing over which is the best 35mm adaptor, or have them arguing about the best filmmaking forum. You could show them on set screwing around or getting confused by all the terms they throw around on set. Look at the comics in your daily paper, they all sort of have a target audience or you at least get to know the characters. You are highlighting filmmakers so show them in a filmmaking environment. Where do we see dagwood the business man alot of times? At work getting chewed out by his boss. Whats the job of a dog? Get messy, get into trouble and be a nuisance just like marmaduke does every day.
Dilbert- office humor
Garfield- cat humor
Family circus- no humor
Cathy- women humor
Mark trail- adventure/nature

Show them making films or doing something film related.

That comic is terrible. I like your drawings, there's definitely style there, but you need to write something with more substance. Do a search for the DVXuser comic thread. The comic thread was geared towards a DVX audience and we got all the jokes. I think you need to figure out who your audience is, and write around that. Right now it just seems like it would be funny to you.

Well...it's only the second strip. I'm sure it'll delve more into other topics once it gets going. Give it time.
