We only had two entries this contest, but both are very well done. Hopefully we can have some more in the future:

Thanks for the efforts.

Man, I didn't know there was a contest, sorry...I would have been all up on this.

I've just been too busy with my sci-fest entry I haven't had time to do this. :(

I must say these are rather depressing though... My photoshop skills pale in comparison. Great work!

This is the first. Details were posted a few times in the Photoshop forum and kept up near the top by a few of us.

Problem was, we couldn't OFFICIALLY run the contest here on DVX so we couldn't blast the board with notices. Seems the Brass think Zombies are more for everyone's taste and Photoshop shouldn't even be discussed here. But at least they sanctioned this event... even if not supported.

But alas, we did get one in.

We'll try again with a new Photo-Oddity.

Come on Capn'

We did add a Photoshop forum did'nt we? Perhaps it was possible Jarred and Barry were just too damn tired to 'pimp' another contest? Jarred had some validity on asking for clearance on running contests, right?

Damn; no love. The natives are never happy.

:(

Nope -- no love.

You know... as commander of a unit myself, I've a new appreciation for the old quote:

Don't worry when they are complaining... start to worry when they STOP!

THAT's when the planning is going on!!

I dig it. Didn't even realize we were doing a Photoshop contest! I'll be game for the next one.

I'll post the names in a few days...

Maybe the winner should set the rules for the next one.

Though we won't call it a contest... we'll call it a Photoshop Festival of Talent.

what were the rules and theme of the contest?

what were the rules and theme of the contest?

** It MUST contain an object that appears larger than it exists in the natural world.
** You may do anything to the picture you want, but it must maintain it's overall integrity.
** You must ONLY use Photoshop -- Elements to CS2 are all ok.
** Please don't use any 3rd party plug-ins. I'm not sure how we'd know - so you're on your honor.

The link to the original picture is above and the link to the posting of the rules is:

You guys did a great job!
I started one the day the contest was announced...then got flooded with work and never got a chance to go back to it.

Here's what I was working on (OBVIOUSLY it isn't anywhere near finished...but you get the idea)
I just got the broad strokes done and had to drop it.

What's funny is I guess I wound up doing the opposite of the intended idea...seeing as the guy winds up making the landscape look like a miniature.
