Anyone have any good resources to get flash meters? eBay is a given, but ie: anyone selling a used Sekonic 358, etc?

You might try a wanted ad in the classifieds at photo.net. Be careful about checking out any responders though. BTW, I've got an L358 I picked up on ebay for $150--excellent meter.

Yeah I may just go the eBay route, sure beats dealing with who knows who on another board. Thanks for the tip!

eBay is probably the best bet, but you might call up some of the mom 'n pop photo stores in your area...it's hit and miss, but I've gotten pretty good deals on occasion. This last weekend I bought a nice Bogen fluid head and rolling stand for 30 bucks at Adolph Gasser's in San Francisco...didn't notice whether they had light meters or not.

As Barry said, the Sekonic is a great meter...you'll be happy with it.

Just picked the meter up from B&H, killer lil device. They had it on sale for 239. Hopefully it will open an entire new level of my shooting (in theory!!) :)

Cool. I really recommend getting some modifiers for the lights especially a set of honeycomb grids and some louvers or an eggcrate for the softbox. It really helps putting the light where you want it and not letting it spill all over the place. Also a real snoot or the poor guy's snoot (black wrap) is handy.

Yeah I have a the huge (5 foot) softbox, and it could use an eggcrate for sure. It's so soft and uncontrollable. Other than that I have umbrellas out the wazoo, and 4 sets of honeycombs in varying angles (from about 10degrees to 40 or so).

I don't know if you've been told about KEH.com or not but check them out, they have new and used equiptment. I have gotten equiptment from them before along with many other people- and they seem to be pretty reliable!!
