Okay, finally putting SOMETHING up here. These are grabs from a sci-fi I'm doing. I'm posting them raw without cc.
These grabs are pretty terrible resolution wise as you can see. I off-line in little ole' iMovie before cutting in FCE. You can't get sharp grabs from iMovie. The original footage is razor sharp and in focus.
I figured you guys could crit the lighting, compositions, etc.
Any and all comments are welcome.
Have at it lads!!! :)

I love the first grab, very nice.

Seems to me you get to play with a few cool props in making this one!

Hhhmm. Lots of views. 2 comments. The silence is deafening. Maybe, larger, better rez pics are necessary?
And to the 2nd post, yeah cool props add production value. I had a lot of fun making them and the set. It also helps the actors get into the spirit of things.

you might get a better response if you post the images in line like this:

Hey all...

My name is Shane Ingles... I have been a member on the site for a long time, but just today was sent an email regarding the Sci-Fest... So I was intrigued... Then after checking the site and seeing how respected you are Jarred. I thought I'd check you up on IMDB... Where I noticed you were born in Edmonton... (I'm an east coaster from Ontario)... And now just recently I see on your post that your in Vancouver.

Well me too.

Disclaimer...

I know that I am a little drunk and buzzed right now...

We run a comedy night here in Gastown.

www.lvroom.com I left early cause my lady had a root canal a couple days ago and is in a bit of pain.

Anyways... We just finished shooting our Sci-Fi Comedy Interactive Pilot at the CineWorks Studio.

www.1501films.com/labphotos are some random pics. We've also completed a feature called "Zach and Avery of Fergus"

www.zna.ca

So I guess I just wanted to say Hi... To all on the site :) I'm guessing I will be checking back a little bit more frequently these days.

Cheers y'all

I think it has a nice and moody tone. Would love to see a clip. :)

Good luck with the shoot.

Okay, now I'm going to sound stupid, but that's okay. It isn't the first time and it won't be the last. I have absoloutely no idea how to make the images pop up in the post window like that.

And yeah, that was a pretty darn good thread jack.

.

When you post [in advanced] Instead of posting the link you can first click on "insert image" --> http://www.dvxuser.com/V3/images/editor/insertimage.gif

A window will open up and just past your image link there - That's it.

[You dont want it too big]

Cheers

Looks pretty cool...I actually like the lighting on the one Jarred reposted. Did you shoot 24p or 24pa? Just curious.

Your cast looks the part Pana. Lighting and comp seem appropriate. It'll be good to see this moving.

Hey, all. Shot 24p on this. Appreciate the comments as well and thanks for overlooking the size, softness / low rez of the pics.
I love offlining in iMovie because it requires no brain power whatsoever and helps me to concentrate on the rough edit, but I hate its frame grabbing abilities.
Absolutely horrible.
I'll try and post some footage soon.

That looks very professional as far as composition and lighting are concerned. Good job.

Everything looks good, but it seems slightly out of focus to me... I don't know. Maybe it's just me.

Yep, gotta read the first post all the way through. The frame grabs are just bad, the original footage is as sharp as a tack.
Convicting, though as I will never do frame grabs in iMovie again.
This scene has been rough cut together with no cc. I'll try and post it soon.
