Hi Everyone,

I'm directing/shooting a music video for the band To A Nunnery this winter and I plan to shoot after a snowstorm (not while snow is falling).

Has anyone else shot in cold weather? are there any precautions I should take in protecting my DVX?

Thanks,

J

I'm Just kiddin. Make sure you bring a polarized filter if you are shooting in the daytime. A snow cover just in case. Oh and watch out for that yellow snow!! Good luck

You can correct the yellow snow in post. Besides, if you're filming in 24P, it won't matter anyway.

Just shot some footage yesterday in some cold ass MN weather. Let the camera adjust to the outside air before firing it up. Then when your done shooting let it adjust to the change in the inside temp for like an hour or two. That's what I did.

Here's some photos of my lame garbage bag DVX. I though it was going to snow on me. http://www.platinumseagulls.com/updates/firstsnow.jpg

more importantly than the camera, i think, the tap should have time to adjust to the temparature, especially after it has been in the cold give it time to adjust to the indoor temparature before reviewing it.

why wont the yellow snow matter if you should in 24p? i dont get it?

I've shot in the Himalayas without any major problems. Just make sure you watch for condensation, and let the camera adjust between indoors/incase and outdoors.

Because the color temperature will be very compatible.
