You'll be able to find the picture here. It isn't RAW, but it is full camera size.

You must change the picture in some way to place an object into it that is shown bigger than it really is.

We haven't set a date yet for close out of the contest, but -- I'll be out of town as will maybe some others of us until after Thanksgiving...

Maybe 1 December?

I'll need people to email me their photos... Please save them so they are at least 300 at the widest or tallest and no more than 600 wide or tall.

captmenchATmac.com

600 tall should give us a good image and be small enough not to clog the system down.

Then, I'll post a Poll Thread and you can vote. Only I'll know the owners of the pix until the poll winner is anounced.

For THIS contest and THIS picture:

** It MUST contain an object that appears larger than it exists in the natural world.
** You may do anything to the picture you want, but it must maintain it's overall integrity.
** You must ONLY use Photoshop -- Elements to CS2 are all ok.
** Please don't use any 3rd party plug-ins. I'm not sure how we'd know - so you're on your honor.

Good luck.

I'm in.

Also, you may do anything to the picture, including creating additonal mountains & clearings & such, but you have to use elements of the picture (like with the clone stamp).

Thanks for the help CaptM

Good luck all.

ps. If CaptM gets a lot of pics to post, I will gladly lighten the load.

What about custom brushes and textures we paint ourselves?

That's all fine.

Good question, and I should have clarified. I meant only dont bring in trees or a mountains from another picture. Things of that sort. If you want to put an extra cliff/cave/meadow/whatever, use the elements from the picture and things you can create. Custom brushes are great blending tools, so they are definately in. Textures you create yourself are your own, and don't come from another pic, so they are in as well.

Ok so just to clarify, you can't use any external photos as elements, but you CAN for the "larger than life object", correct? Or does that need to be created from scratch as well?

CaptainMench

No -- that should be from another element... like a pic or something. Sorry Kai - thought that was assumed.

Also, assuming from reading the other thread, the "object" needs to be a person, correct? I'm just trying to make sure everything is painfully clear.

No -- I don't think the object needs to be a person.

This one will have a bit more freedoms as we finetune the process.

You don't need a person for this one. I will be probably use myself, but only because I have more fun that way. I may also use my cat.

Sorry Jarred. Kinda got caught up with the idea, and didn't even think. These are not really "official" contests, more like learning experiences. At least that was the idea. Shan't happen again.

As for Kai, I am pretty confident of my own small skills.

They're coming in already?!

Man I must really suck...

All those trees make realistically adding something in there extremely difficult!

I HOPE CaptM meant people were only downloading his file. That's what I hope. I haven't started yet either.
