I was reading one John Hudson's threads about matte painting and thought I'd give it a try.Putfile (http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?pic=11/32216563389.gif&s=x12)

Wow. Creepy place.
Nicely done. I like the dreary color tone.

Commalot,
I thought that was fantastic, very real looking and atmospheric.

I used the tutorial that Rapier 100A listed. 2 photos were used. The house photo and a picture of some clouds with the leafless trees in the foreground. The cloud photo already had a dreary look to it so I just color corrected the house to match the tones in the cloud photo. I did all the detail stuff as listed in the tutorial and as a final touch I used a light grey brush with low flow and opasity to give the overall photo a misty look.

By the way, I'm as much surprised as I am honored by the compliments of the work. I have a confession. I ain'nt no pro. But for a long time I've been fasinated by film making. Kept asking, 'How did they do that?', 'What is it about that scene that evokes such feelings?' Read some books. Realized it's a package. Story, camera work, lighting, script, music, and good acting.
Anyway, I already had a good computer, Premier Pro, Photoshop CS, music software, and 2 days after I found this forum I drove out to EVS and picked up a DVX100A. Now all I have to do is assimilate enough out of this forum to actually put a story together on film.

So even if it doesn't make you a pro, it makes you an aspiring pro
That looks awesome by the way, keep up the good work!
