Mikko - do you mean just when guys are pushing the dolly really fast, or some sort of mechcanical dolly? Speacial sort of dolly? What is their primary use? Thanks -

Doolies don't run on speed rail, they run on dolly track.

speed rails are used mostly to rig ceilings with lights. They come in many sized and different attachements to spread between walls and so forth to create a grid onto which you pipe clamp lights.

Often sections of speed rail will used a variety of other functions like for making a frame onto which they stretch a green screen used on a stand and have duvetyne draped over it. There's tons of possiblities.

Speedrail is aluminum pipe, used for all kinds of rigging.

I need to know what the standard width of speedrail is.

Length is simple, a hacksaw can determine that...

It's normally 1 1/4 (one and one-quarter) inch outside diameter (OD). Although, I believe some of the for show stuff used at trade shows and whatnot is 1 1/2 inch. But the stuff coming off the grip truck is normally 1 1/4" OD.
