I forgive him. After all, he's from Niceville, Florida!

Seriously though, guys... this must have been an expensive ad. :)

I am so fond of tv commercials of great ideas. Can't help it. BTW is it ok for indie filmmakers to like commercials like this? Well.. who cares right? Cheers!

I saw that commercial a few months ago somewhere on here..its madd cool

It looks like they could of actually done it with real people one some of those arial shots...cuz u can see their faces...or they jus had super duper awesome good CG artists put them there like any other commercial/movie that involves massive crowds of people like that.

its sweet though

Whats the deal guys? I mean comon, Its like somebody posts something where it shouldn't go and everbody has to make sure that person feels stupid. Mainly you John...

And John, i love how you think you're so funny sometimes when you're way off my friend.. It'd be nice if you could share some respect (from my understanding we give you alot)
by the way your picture scares me...

and for Jermz... Niceville, FL rolls off the tounge a whole lot better than Kaneohe, HI.

Thats the last time I post something of interest, you unappreciating bastards.

(nevertheless, i still love all of you... no matter how hard you make it. and yes i had to re-edit and delete this post so it may be out of order)

Whatever... that's the first time I saw it and I watched it twice just so I could sustain my laughter... from now on when somebody posts a video clip I'm going to watch it. I can't believe I didn't see this sooner.

That's easily my favorite ad... if that don't blow away the Sony ad then I don't know what would. When you watch the "making of" for the Sony ad you'd think they cured cancer and aids with that commercial.

Hahahaha.
Leave it to marketing people.... if they don't make us feel like what they're doing is important...no one will ever think what they're doing is important.

Just a little FYI, if I'm not mistaken, the producers of this commercial did indeed make their aerial shots using cg models. I believe the program they used is called "Massive", the same company that brought us the humongous battle scenes in Lord of the Rings.

"Massive" programs each agent with its own personality. The personalities are randomized, and each agent is aware of its surroundings. You can tweak each agent individually to make it taller/shorter or dumber/smarter, in regards to its environment. Pretty cool program all around.

There were only 300 real actors. The rest 20,000 were CGI

now that is freakin awesome!

I never knew that they were all programmed being aware of its surroundings and stuff..i thought they jus made a few actions for the models....put the actions on the modles..and jus scatter them around. I feel special now that i learned something cool...so next time I whip out Troy or some other movie....and look at those battle scenes..ill be like..yeeehhhhh look at those little pieces of computer programs duuukin it out on the desert with with their little swords.
