I read that only members with 100 posts can vote.

I was curious and sorted the memberlist by posts.

Currently, it looks like only about 6% of the members here can vote.

Chris

p.s. I am not trying to stir up any contronversy, I agree with the 100 post rule, I just thought it was interesting. I would of thought there would have been a lot more members with 100+ posts

Wow! I'm surprised its not higher. That's like what 500 users or so?
I wonder what the number will be by January 31st...

A lot of people register when they don't own the camera ask a question and never come back. A lot of people register post and then lose interest. A lot of people register post and then just lurk. I like the 100 post thing because it ensures that the people voting are active members of the community and continue to the growth of the board.

I think I read somewhere only 10% of club/group members participate in their organization . The 6% sure reflects this .

I agree with keeping the voting rule at 100 post ..(even though I couldn't vote in the Zombie fest )..........Ian

Is there any way to prevent women from voting too?

JUST KIDDING.

It also ensures that any one nefarious person can't register a lot of their friends solely for the purpose of voting for them.

I used to lurk a lot before the Zombie Fest but now I find myself posting a lot more. I'll definitely have 100 posts by the end of January.

Like we need to make a conscientious effort to keep women away.

With but a few wonderful exceptions, the subject matter of this board seems to accomplish that task just fine.

Its really too bad, I know a number of highly talented writer/directors and even a few DPs that are women, but none of them are active here.

Does that mean... * gasp *... the women have lives off the internet? Like real ones? Damn them all!!!!

What is that old expression about the road to hell being paved in what?

Exactly. Things start innocently enough, but take a dark turn pretty quickly.

I'm not even going to fill in my blank as I am sure to spend the afternoon in detention... Call it a sense of humor.

I suppose that goes along with what Barry was saying: "Something that nobody has."

..how about an HVX. nobody has one of those yet. that would be a nice prize.

..or better yet, a big ball of tinfoil that sings "shell be coming round the mountain" when you stuff it into a noodle and bake it at 400 for 45 minutes. that would be sweet.
