Hi there everybody.

Say, I played with an HD100U this weekend and I see that there is a 1/2 inch lens adapter available.

Now I'm not that experienced about this sort of thing, but what varieties of lenses are available in the 1/2 inch flavor?

Can I get some good/decent prime glass?

My plan is to buy a Redrock Micro M2 adapter for the camera if I buy it.

Where can I find info about lenses that would fit an 1/2 inch adapter?

Thanks~

Mike

There are two lenses that will fit to the ACM-12 adapter - the S20x6.4BMD ($5,200) which is a standard definition lens (not recommended unless you'll settle for a standard resolution output from this HDV camera) or the HSS18X5.5 BMD ($9,800) which is a HD lens. Also remember that when you step up from 1/3" to a 1/2" lens you have to use a multiplication factor (which might be in the range of 1.3 (?) or so). This would effectively change the 18X5.5 to something like a 24X7. A lot of guys would object to putting a $10,000 lens on a $5,500 camera, but when you price out 1/2" HD lenses you'll probably be shocked to find that this lens is actually considered a "bargain".
