Hey everyone,

Got my Xl1s a couple months ago and needed a project to test it out. So some friends and I decided to do a music video. Each actor played both a good and bad guy which was alot fo fun. The locations were all around downtown Phoenix and Buckeye shot guerilla style. We were only able to shoot a few hours a week so thats why the shoot lasted a couple months. As you can see the influence comes from Spike Jonze's work on the beastie boys music videos. This is an unsolicited music video to the song "Coup D'Etat" from the influencial band "Refused" who unfortunatley broke up in 1998 so this is kinda of my tribute to them.

Hope you enjoy! :cheesy:

Sabotage much? LOL... good job. Looks like XL1s to me, shot in 30p with a high shutter and warm WB.

hey it's me:

the old guy cop - slash - flanel grocery carrier -slash- opening gold jacket wonder in trashcandan's Coup D'Etat. To answer the question above, yes, it was a XL1-s.

What I am wondering is why would anyone think it isn't?

LOL, because this is DVXuser and they dont think the XL cams can do anything but corporate video. Actually, the colors on the DVX match the XL1s pretty close...

i too would expect a thread in the Canon XL clips forum marked "watch my canon xl1s video" to be shot on a canon.. maybe you where trying to be sarcastic, but it just makes you look like a dick looking for trouble.

Also, I don't know who you are saying "they" but considering that this is my site and I gave XL users their own Canon forum because the XL1 is still a great camera, I would check where your pointing your fingers and making accusations....

and your wrong.. the Xl1s is a world away from color matching the DVX, not that that is a bad thing, its just a different thing.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the comments! I really appreciate them. Like foamshore said, it was shot on a XL1s in 60i "normal mode". And like AshG said warm white balance and high shutter speed. Any more questions feel free to ask and keep the criticism flowin.
