wow. The shots of the houses with the sky are great. How did you do the timelapse effects if you shot 60i?

we just let the cam run for 15 min then sped up between 3000% and 5000% in post.

holy crap that is beautiful footage. Nice titles too!
did you all use any special mics or lenses on the shoot or was it pretty much all stock FX1 camera stuff?

Iced - we had a matte box on the end of the FX with a selection of different filters at different times. polarizer, ND etc.

i directed and edited this piece. i was happy with the result. im planning on getting the Z1U myself to replace my PD150 and have the option of shooting HDV when i want or when it is requested by a client.

The pan around the houses(in a car i presume), was it steadicam stuff, or do you have a magic wrist for panning? Great choice of sounds and text by the way, contentwise I mean.

the camera was mounted to the window of the car and we drove very carefully. it was at a cul-de-sac.. that is why you get that round a bout feel.

Some footage had beautiful orange glows, other footage looked dry and thirsty like the typical Sony color matrix. Such as the Interview with the construction worker.

hey there, footage looks great! I am only 14 so forgive my ignorance...what what exactly does de-interlacing footage do? versus if you leave it interlaced? I dont even know what that means.......thanks

Interlace is when you have two separate fields (Upper and Lower) that makes up each frame of your footage. Progressive footage means you have just one full frame. The problem with interlace is that during fast motions you can see interlace "teeth" where the two fields doesn't quite match up, which looks ugly. In progressive footage, this would just cause a more natural looking motion blur. Deinterlace footage to get rid of the two fields and make it progressive. The easiest way is to double every other resolution lines on the image. Problem is, doubling the lines threw away 50% of your image resolution.
