Hello. Right here i have a new video that i shot this weekend. Understand that this is only a test for me, not an edited version at all. When it is finished i will upload it.

AS i was talking with Jonathan, i cannot go back and shot straight DV/HDV any more. This video gives some kind of melancolic/artistic/atmosphere that i think would not be the same with 1/3 or 2/3 CCDs cameras.

For people asking technical details:
- shot with FX1E
- G35 beta
- nikon 50mm f1.4
- edited in vegas
- just color curves used in post

I haven´t used the FX1 in Dv mode yet. Why doing it when i have much more color correction possibilities when recording in HDV?

Naked models... ummm, it is really hard to get nice ones, i guess.

If i tell you the truth i can hardly edit HDV right now. I am on a laptop with P4 mobile at 1.8 and only 384 RAM Mb.

I need to buy something really soon. Meanwhile i have to borrow a P4 3.2 with 1 Gb of RAM but is not enough.

Looks phenominal. I imagine this will be the set-up for people who can't make the jump to an hd100 or HVX quite yet. Now all I need is a G35 and to trick my FX1 into shooting pal. Macgregor I assume you shot in Cineframe 25 with Cinetone on?

Cinetone is always OFF. And i use CF25 always except when i want to make slow motions in post, which is the case in a lot of situations dealing with this kind of girl shootings.

Sure you can. You just need to get your hands on the FX1E through places like B&H Photo. Or you could just get the pricier Z1U which has both NTSC and PAL modes.

No, I believe the power consumption for both cams are the same, 18 Watt, DC 8.4 V, AC 100/240 V, 50/60 Hz. If you worried about compatibility I'd ask the salesperson about it, but I think you should be okay.

this blows all my misconceptions of hdv having so-so color processing. this is truely amazing. The red scarf is just the right color the whole way through and the greens are never muttled, but natural. I dont even have to go into skin tones, they speak for themselves.
