I'm possibly going this Sunday and if anyone who can't attend has any questions or things they'd like me to test, let me know.

Can you please ask Jan to what extent we'll be able to view the results of shooting in different framerates on the camera itself?
Thank you very much.
I second that one. Find out how we will be able to view different frame rates, specifically 720 in camera.
is it too ridiculous, to ask already for the objective cap? - whether it is integrated or detachable... I'll buy the cam 99% anyway, but I just wonder - and I'm of the kind who prefer integrated objective caps...
I almost forgot: the pre-recording of 3 seconds on P2... I read somewhere that it's not only 3 seconds, but also more if you whish.... so the question:
is there only 1 setting of 3 seconds pre-recording or are there more? If yes: what do this settings look like? (e.g. free decision from 1 up to 60 seconds...)

I haven't read every post in every thread here, but I haven't seen anything firm yet on the HVX's weight. If I haven't missed something, then that might be a good question.

It's three seconds in 1080 mode. I believe it's longer in SD.
However, the entire thing is pretty moot because the camera also features "loop" mode that will continuously record over ALL of the free space on the P2 card, and after you start recording, erase that recorded footage from the beginning so that you have whatever you've recorded + whatever space is left on the card, starting from the instant you pressed the button and going backwards.
For documentary-type situations, that kind of freedom has never been available before - with film OR video.
I absolutely love the prospects of that loop feature. It will be amazingly handy for nature stuff or when you're waiting for something out of your control to happen.

Scene files. Those SD memory card loadable files that have pre programmed "looks" or gamma settings.
Like the ones on the SDX900. Will they be available for the HVX? Can the ones for the SDX900 be used? If they can, how would you load them?
If not, than can you save your own settings on the camera?
thanks!

Ask Jan does this camera have multiple aspect ratios. I know it does 16:9 but what about 2:40:1 or something like that, even if it's a squeeze mode.

THAT would be cool. I'm sure it'll only record in 16x9 dimensions, and not Cinemascope, but it sure would be cool if it included 2.35:1 framing guides on the LCD. Of course, we'd have to crop in post, but cinemascope guides would make it much easier to frame those "super-widescreen" epics in the desert...

Chicago was interesting. The projector performance wasnt that great...there was a workshop on showing HDV before Jan got on, and wow, did that footage look bad (lthough I guess it was shot high gain and they tried to fix in post...but it look bad)
The hvx looked pretty good in interlace....there was some banding Jan pointed out becuase of the projector issue...the same footage looked nice when played on the 17" pro lcd.
Some noise in areas..mainly bright colors like red etc but I think the camera will be fine. Also, I dig P2. Anyone with experience with flash or sd based audio will also like it.
