The film is called 30 because it was all shot in 30p. This is my very first short film (very short). Criticism is pretty most definately encourage because I'm always will to improve my work. Shot with PD150. Please comment guys. Thanks

By the way, the PD150 has a 30P mode?

Yes the PD150 has a 30p mode. Heres an updated link. Sorry For the sorenson logo but I had no other way to compress it to a QT file other than using a trial version of sorenson.

well, all I can say is, we all know that u can rack focus like a pro. try expanding your style of shooting and shots.

Yes the PD150 has a 30p mode.
Damn that's news to me. I have a VX2100 which i thought was similar other than audio inputs ... or maybe that was teh pd 170 , anyway...
The PD150 does not have 30p... it is has a shitty ass progressive type mode.. but as far as I know it sure isn't true 30p... If I remember correctly it is 15p.....
anywho.. that wasn't a short.. it was a montage with music..
what comments would you like on it?
too much rack focus... a lot of shake in the shots that would appear to static tripod shots...

Hmm...I have to agree with Loki. Here's some criticism how about a narrative. then maybe we could comment on it's validity as a short. I suppose I could thank you for showing us the rack focus possibilities of the PD-150 (which does not have 30p capability), but most here already know that.
Write a script. Go get some actors, 99.5% of them will work for free. Shoot the film (try to avoid to many instances of rack focus (goal accomplished). Edit the piece then, post it.
I'm sure most people here would be happy to comment constructively after that.

To really classify as a short film, It should be Dramatic, not just a series of images. HOWEVER, it was good for a series of images!
You'll advance much more if you try some dramatic stuff, instead of the "Sudo-Documentary-Type-thing" thats this film is...

I would suggest that you cut the time to rack focus down to a third of the time you are taking right now.
"But was it good for a 14 year old?" I'm not sure what you mean by that....the comments here are independent of what age you are. Learn your craft here, don't just look for kudos.
Keep shooting.

I'm tired of people using that as an excuse. I'm 16 and I know I'm perfectly capable of taking criticism without using my age as a scapegoat. Although I'm trying not to sound like a hypocrite (I haven't even posted any of my stuff yet), you still shouldn't try to let someone soften up on you just because you're a little bit younger than them.
