Just wanted to show one of my babies. I had been looking for one of these for years and in 1995 I went to a local camera swap in Atlanta and there it was...non-working, beautiful and alone.

The guy was asking for $100 dollars and I didn't even flinch..I was just to excited to start negociating. I took it to a camera shop owned buy an older japaneese gentleman...he does not speak one ounce of English but when I whipped out this bad boy he said ...AHHH Canon 1218 very good...very good! He did a wonderful job and it has been working ever since. All cameras I've ever had I have sent it to him to take a look at..great work and decent prices.

This camera is terrific. It has a huge hunk of glass....the images are beautiful. TSA is always giving me problems when I fly...they think I got some sort of weapon. Then they do not understand that I cannot "turn it on" in order for them to take a look to make sure it is a video camera of sorts. Oh well...the joy of flying today.

I've been shooting all sorts of PSA and commercials with this "gun" and it has never given me any problems. It even went to the Grand Canyon on a 5 day hike from rim to rim. Well...enjoy!

I was looking to buy a 1218, but it is hard to find them at decent prices. I settled for a lovely little Nizo in the end.

Certainly is quite a lens. that the 1218 has.
