Superb and extremely professional. Shows what a good director, DP and some time spent in post can do with SD footage. I'd swear it was shot on film, but... it's in the XL2 forum!!! Awesome. :)

AMAZING!

It looks like mini35. Am I correct?

Even though the song makes me want to shoot myself, I think the video is really incredible.

Don't get me wrong, the song is good...but it still makes me want to shoot myself.

That must have been a tough shoot.

Seriously; wonderful job. Hot chicks; catchy song; wonderfulyl shot and tihgtly edited (some of the rooftop stuff with the blonde seems a bit overly done for the piece but Im probally nitpicking)

Bravo.

Yeah, I was wondering if you used the mini35 too, it looks considerably better than most XL stuff. Great great DPing on this, and for once it's not a music video of angsty-scremo band. Keep it coming.

Awsome work. This is a really good sample of the thing that it doesn´t matter if you have either 35mm, 16mm, dvx, xl2 or something else in your hand, as long as you know what you are doing...Really nice work...

I still have little doubt if this really is an xl2 clip???

What XL2 settings and post work did you do to get this nice look... aside from the mini35.

those screen grabs on matts site arnt the same video screen grabs hahah... clearly .... as there was no green screen work done on this video and no big band performance under a bridge... like in those photos....

www.myspace.com/colin_minihan is where you can see some behind the scenes photos of this video. It was shot with the xl2 and yes mini 35 using nikon still photographic lenses.

ill have a making of soon too ...

thx btw

Colin,

The image seems very sharp ! I like it.
I though the mini35 looked soft...
Do you feel the mini35 caused any loss of resolution when viewed on a normal tv monitor ?

thanks

again, great great work !

Solid video. Nice song too. Not my usual taste, but for some reason I can't get it out of my head. There should be two versions though: The "Blonde edit" and the "Brunette edit". I wanted to see more of the dark-haired one. :)

Anyway, two thumbs way up. Hope you can show us the behind the scenes soon.

Excellent work guys...

Nice to see more quality work on the XL2; 35mm adapter or not.

Too bad "digital racism" has to creep into this by claiming it's too good to be done with an XL2, especially when it's shown clearly on the site. When will people grow-up and realize that talent alone is at least 90% of the equation? 24-hr Party People was shot with a Sony DV camera, cheaper then the DVX or XL2, and it's a good quality film.

The stove doesn't make the cook, and the camera doesn't make the photographer. If you want an example from the 3D realm, Google the name Raf Anzovin. That guy made awesome animations with primitive software almost 10 years ago.

Sorry for the tangent, but this gets old after a while.

Oddly enough, I have some distant Louisiana relatives that would probably say that very thing... too funny.:cheesy:

Impressive music clip. I'm totally impress by the quality of the footage. I'm impress about the XL2. Seriously, I need to test that camera.

Great stuff man...

one thing I did notice, that in several instances the vocals were ever so slightly out of sync with the picture... though it only happened a few times... so maybe it is supposed to be that way... who knows..

good work though

I always wondered "what really can that XL2 do?" I knew that camera was good but damn dude what picture quality. Had some cutties in it too so that made it better.

Curious what filter or effect you used to get the airy look, some sort of soft focus filter?
