Some of my current work needs a 1080P 30 AVCHD file to mix with my other Pana AVCHD cameras on the timeline. Does the DVX200 do this? It looks like this one isnt there.

Thanks!

No, which is of great annoyance to one of the producers I work for. It also doesn't have a 1080p/24 100mb/s mode, which is of great annoyance for me, as I think 1080p/24 long-GOP 100mb/s is kind of the sweet spot on my GH4 :undecided

No. Here is what DVX200 officially does do, in 59.94 Hz territories, according to Panasonic's spec sheet:

MOV/MP4

4K
4096 x 2160/24.00p

UHD
3840 x 2160/59.94p
3840 x 2160/29.97p/23.98p

FHD
1920 x 1080/59.94p/29.97p/23.98p (ALL-I)
1920 x 1080/59.94p
1920 x 1080/59.94p/29.97p/23.98p/59.94i

AVCHD

PS
1920 x 1080/59.94p

PH
1920 x 1080/59.94i/23.98p

HA
1920 x 1080/59.94i

HE
1440 x 1080/59.94i

PM
1280 x 720/59.94p

SA
720 x 480/59.94i SIDE CROP/ LETTERBOX/ SQUEEZE

What I would do, if I had no other option, is shoot in 59.94p then do a conversion to 29.97p before editing. I use Compressor.

Do you guys think that the PS mode, which I guess is 1080P60, could just be dropped on a Vegas timeline with the 1080P30 and it will play nicely?

I dont want to do any conversion or spend any more time or disk space on edits than necessary.

Keep in mind that the sharpness will be much better if you shoot in 4K And then downconvert.

I don't know if Vegas will do a real-time conform.
