I bought 4 64Gb U3 SD cards when I purchased my DVX200. I formatted them all right out of the packaging with the camera. I shot a ballet last weekend and got 2 large files, one for each act.

Last night I shot a children's play and used a 32Gb U1 SD card that I owned previously. I formatted it with the camera before the shoot. I shot both events in 1080P, 29.97, 50Megabit.

When I ingested after the play I noticed that the video had been split in max 4Gb segments. After a bit of investigation I found that the 64Gb cards were formatted exFAT and the 32GB cards were formatted FAT32.

So.....seems like the DVX200 will leave an existing base file system intact when you "format" using the camera? Or does it select the file system based on card size? Something else going on?

Hi Larry,
SD and SDHC cards are formatted as FAT32, but SDXC cards need to be formatted
as exFAT. The camera do this automatically. The file limit of FAT32 ist 4 GB a file and I believe
the DVX200 makes 48GB files at exFAT. That is the difference of your cards.
