The colors came off really nice. the editing seems ok, i have to see it again with more attention, but the lack of any other images besides the group performance really dryed my interest on it. Maybe it's just not my kind of music, but if you ever find something to intercut with that performace, I think the video could be REALLY cool. It's nice the way it is, but could be better... Concept is a killer thing. There once was this video posted here about a girl that lived in a junkyard and built a robot. It was very guerrilla, low budget, but very well done and most important, had a really cool concept. I guess that is really what does it for me...
The drummer shots HAVE to be synced, man, it's too noticable!
Cheers!

101% with taubkin on the sync issue... the side feather borders in and out from clip to clip is distracting, but of course that's my taste and opinion. I liked it!
Cheers!

I'm sure the band will like the video.... too bad the video couldn't help how bad the singer screams. But that's beyond your control.

Yes, it is a nice video.
I agree with Gualbert with regards to the feather borders.
All the best

Kendall,
Excellent job for your first music video.
I have to agree with the other comments. Some other shots intercut with the performance would make the video much more dynamic and interesting.
I think the actual shots are all nice and crisp with good composition, I would lose the feathered border though.
Congratulations on your first video,
Chris

;D
Thanks guys I really appreciate the feedback I know it is lacking somthing I think I will try to keep working on it before I present it to the band. I really want to do a theme or skit that takes you out of the show. If you have any suggestions please feel free to give them.

How many cameras were used to shoot that? Was the Audio recorded separately?

yeah dude, cool first edit, now for my constructive criticism (lets hope)
1. SYNC! PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! ok sry, but yeah, its neccesary.
2. Personally it didnt look like any of them were playing their instruments. I mean, i know they're not, its a music video, but it doesnt LOOK like they are, except the drummer and since he's out of sync, he doesnt either. It might also be that im a musician but...
Next time, for fun, have them play once or twice for real and tape that, just to see what they really look like playing, then do the rest to play back so they can really rock out and do all they're showy stuff. and really playback isnt always a have to, i mean when u edit it all up if they're playing a little to fast or whatever, u cant tell.
another helpful hint on this, only show the parts that look best, i know that common sense, but those parts where the guy screaming into the mike isnt even close to it, show the guitar player instead, when the guitar players, spazing and and obviously isnt playing anything close, cut away to the drummer.
(again, this might be because i play, but about 3/4 into it, that low breakdown part, there's a lead guitar part that neither guitar players are playing. tell me if im wrong. but it probably doesnt matter anyway)
3. Play with ur lighting a little more. Ur shooting digital so take advantage that u can see how u lights look immediately and play with them untill u have something really sweet. I see some stuff like the ECU of the singer and the mic, but play with it a little more, see how u can make ur compositions a little more interesting.
ok, sry to speak down to u, u probably know this stuff already, just wanna be the one to enlighten u if u didnt lol. Keep working, this is a great first start!

There were 2 cameras, shooting. Thank you for the pointers this is my school. Thank you
::)More, More, More, More.....
If you ask me, the black feathering only bothers me because it always obscures about half of the singer's face in the close-up shots. That's pretty distracting. In the wider shots of the band, I think it actually works in your favor.
Maybe it's because I'm a musician, too, but the first thing I'd definitely work on (among all the good tips and suggestions) is the synchronization. It kinda takes me out of the performance in this performance-centric video when the audio and visuals aren't matched up.
Otherwise, good job! It's not easy to wear all the hats.
What settings did you use?
