I want to get the anamorphic widescreen adapter for the dvx100a. However, down the line, I may also want to get one of the 35mm adapters like the G35, mini35 or redrock depending on what the budget I have is. I was thinking, if i want the true 16:9 widescreen that the adapter offers, but also want the shallow depth of field and 35mm look the G35 or mini 35 offer, can they both be used together? I wanted to see if anyone here has tried to use both to get the two benefits in conjunction with each other and how it worked out. Don't really want to compromise and use digital squeeze or cropping.

Also, next year I may trade up to a HVX 200 and I hear they have native 16:9. If they do not allow you to screw on 35mm lenses direct, I expect using an adapter like the G35 on it would allow true 16:9 (which is already native) AS WELL as the 35mm effect such an adapter like the G35 or mini35 would offer without the need for a separate widescreen adapter.

questions, questions...

well, here's one thing I know for sure: prepare to move.... wrong section.

Can't really be done. You'd probably be better off using squeeze mode. The Panasonic anamorphic could be fitted in front of a still-camera lens, but it'll be useless in most shooting circumstances (longer than about 35mm lenses, at wider than f/8, you won't get adequate depth of field to bring the anamorphic image into proper focus).

So no, basically it can't be done to any practical degree.

okay bearing what you say in mind, what about th hvx 200? It apparently has native 16:9 correct? If so would THAT camera be able to utilise a mini35, pro35 or g35 adapter to get the 35mm DOF and also have the 16:9 anamorphic like a film camera does?

I am planning ahead for a feature that I am considering bypassing 35mm film altogether if panasonic's gear can provide a solid digital alternative.

Also, off topic, I have been trying to get info on advertising on dvxuser.com for my dvd release of a dv feature. Are you the guy to talk to or is there someone from the site I should refer to?

Yes, exactly.

Jarred's the guy you want to talk to. You could send him a direct e-mail to "contact" at dv x user .com (obviously remove the quote marks and spaces...)
