When you guys/gals meet, what do you talk about...what is the main objective? Just asking since there are no groups in the Delaware area....

from what I've heard, they play rock, paper, scissors for a couple of hours :)
...and they drink non-alcoholic beer with a shandy top.

My questions are, how long does it take to learn the secret handshake and is the group shower afterwards mandatory?
actually, the "handshake" is in the shower, just dont drop your camera...

We talk about our lost aperture and our very shallow depth of field...

Hey David, I am close enough to you now that we could get together and find out what happens at a dvxuser meeting. I am in lexington shooting a horse show.... boring stuff.. I know other people in the richmond area with dvx's but dont use this forum or arent active on it. I am filming these stupid horses till sunday... I learned a lesson today and that is to wrap something like a shirt around your camera if you are in a dusty environment.

I shoot straight...
I've been hosting user group meetings in 3D animation for 2 years. We've formatted the meetings to encompass:
1. Lectures/showing of methods and tricks.
2. Educational exposes on 3rd party add ons
3. Guest Speakers
4. Show and tell among the users
5. Socializing and networking
The format works very well.
And just so y'all know, we're having an inaugural DVXUSER meeting at Bay Area Video Coalition on Monday October 17th 7-10pm!
I'm seriously looking for input from ANYONE in northern california as to how they would want to have their meetings formatted. We have access to computer labs, projection screen and screening rooms - including Avid Adrenaline, FCP on dual G5's and pro light kits. I'd like to make this a killer meeting space for DVX users across Northern California.
See y'all soon
