I had a chance to shoot some live concert footage with DVX cameras for Third Eye Blind on their tour in '03/'04 and there's a few highlights on the web to see so I thought I would share them in here.
Feedback/comments/questions welcome.

Nice work! Is that part of a DVD for the band or just independent?
I saw your site and ran google on mimetic/you... you're working with Eminem and other artists too? That's pretty fantastic. More power to DVX users everywhere.
I have to start sticking mine in rockstar's faces.

Sweet! How many cities did you shoot in? How did you find the cameras in that dark dark light... on the Halloween shoot?
I used to really like these guys... never knew what happened to them after that semi-charmed song!
Are a lot of bands shooting 24p now?

Well I was on and off the tour in late 2003... probably recorded 10-12 shows total with 2-3 cameras at each show.
The band was awesome to work with, the footage has been used for web clips, some other promo... but will be intercut with DVD footage from the making of their new album.. they're in and out of the studio until sometime this winter. I think it will end up being the DVD bonus disc that comes packaged with the album. That's the best I can say right now.

Cool! That's pretty groovy. Do you just do video as hobby and now it's turned into a career? How did you get a break with a band like that?

I do this for a living. Stephan, the singer in the band, has become a good friend of mine. Long time fan turned associate of the group. Going to be shooting a behind the scenes in studio for the groups' 4th album with the DVX starting really soon.

You actually know Stephan Jenkins? Great lyricist but isn't he an a-hole to be around. Didn't think a guy like that could keep friends.
Anyhow... nice concert highlight. Was there any colour correction to these shots or is that the way it looked right from the stage lighting?

It's exactly what was shot that night. DVX gets beautiful colours. A lot of rock shows I've filmed don't always have as MUCH light and that tends to make the 24p much less impressive as you know if you've shot anything with not enough light. But that's videography as a whole.
Stephan is uhm... challanging to work with I might say... but in no way an ass. I think he's commonly mistaken for an ass by being a guy with a very specific vision and wants to get exactly what's in his head.
