Is this thread for the NAB'15 too or just what's above?

If this is a general new product thread - Intel has released new 2.5" Solid State Drives that purport to write at 2.5 GB/s, with the proper architecture support.

Teradek has been a Vitec brand since 2013 (SmallHD since December 2014). The most recent addition was Paralinx in March of this year.

Which is an interesting addition since both Teradek and Paralinx make wireless video products, some of which compete with each other. Vitec seems to have no problem with overlapping products among their different brands though, as evidenced by the fact they own several major tripod brands (Manfrotto, Sachtler, Vinten, OConnor).

But anyway, I'm sure most people are probably more interested in the new gear than the business side of things.

It was supposed to say something like "Vitec gives NAB '15 preview of their new products"

Some how the title got deleted & I was clueless that it happened. Sorry about that.

Yep, I guess I screwed that part up too. Stupid memory.

That's it from Sachtler and all the rest of the camera support manufacturer'?.
The Speedlevel clamp?
This has been around for at least a year already and I happen to have one in my bag.

Not very impressive on a communications level.

That and Sachtler now makes bags!

Well, Kata got dissolved & folded into Manfrotto to make Manfrotto bags, but I guess Sachtler should make bags too, because, I don't know, Kata bags were great and why keep a good thing going?

Those Anton Bauer batteries look absolutely massive for only 90Wh. No thanks.

It actually looks like they bought the Petrol bags (which also dissolved). The cart has the same name and is identical and the bags are pretty close to identical. I'm glad since I love Petrol bags. I have bought backups on eBay of the original Dr Bag 4 since that's the only bag I've found that can get under all airplane seats with all my stuff in and attach to a cart. That bag has saved me so much trouble.

Petrol got dissolved? Their website seems pretty active: http://www.petrolbags.com/?set_sub_site=18

Though Vitec sent the Manfrotto 535 tripod over to Sachtler, added some red plastic bits & now sells it as a Sachtler kit, so Vitec doesn't have a problem sending products from one brand to another.

I guess merged rather than "dissolved" would be more accurate, as stated on their website. B&H seems to be closing out some of the Petrol bags, actually a great time to buy them with 40% savings. And the Snaplock trolley was unavailable for months until Sachtler released it under it's own name. My guess is that the Petrol brand will be replaced with Sachtler branding.

just like the above poster said - Sacthler bags = petrol bags. Petrolbags folded into Sacthler , both owned by Vitec.

Even if you see petrol bags sold online, they are old stock. All new bags will carry the Sachtler logo, but pretty much be the same. Same bag , different badge.

At least with the Vitec: Kata / Manfrotto merger (absorbtion) there is a note on the Kata web page & a clear press release on Manfrotto

http://www.kata-bags.us/
http://www.manfrotto.com/About+Us/Kata+Joins+Manfrotto/Kata+merges+with+Manfrotto+to+become+unrivalled+in +bags!/96161163

This is the most I can find about Sachtler / Petrol.

Honestly, if anything I wish that Kata & Petrol merged. I know some MBA figured out that Manfrotto / Sachtler are stronger brands, but it is just that much harder to search B&H photo now when I need a new bag. Before I could just type "Kata," now it is "Manfrotto case" no wait "Manfrotto bag" ... is this all of them? Maybe it's a different term...

NAB 2017: Vitec owns all the other companies. All.
