RONINFILMER

Kaos,

My error for asking. Thanks for clarifying.

Who here has made the the RedRock adapter from using the guide? I'm wondering about the degree of difficulty vs paying for the thing outright. More importantly, what will be the average savings by DIY?

Roninfilmer,
Barry already provided a link to redrockmicro. Please take the time to read
through their info.

I say the G35 is the best that I've seen yet........

Vignetting is darker on the edge than the center of the picture. The Letus35 is built the way 35mm camera has been built, therefore, no vignetting, thanks.

I am interested in buying a 35mm adpater, any personal firsthand experiences with the Letsu for the DVX100A? For $300.00 I am considering it highly. Also, the UNIVERSAL FOCUS GEAR is another item that just became available as well, any reviews on that one?

The only issue is....35mm cameras have tons of vignetting. You'd have to have a magic lens (or maybe a tilt/shift lens) to reduce vignetting completely. But, yes, a good condensor will seriously limit how bad the vignetting gets.

And while the M2 looks pretty nice, the ghosting issues are just intense:

Oh well.

ya, from the stills I've seen from the M2 (stills from the consumers, not the test footage) is not very impressive.

Massive ghosting, and on one adapter, you can see the GG spinning...

just gotta wait until more footage pops up of the M2 until I buy it

People use 35mm because they have them lying around, or can get them cheap-ish.

Me, I've got 6x6 lenses...so that's what I'll build. Bigger image to focus on...or zoom in a little further and forget about vignetting.

The cobbled-together tests were ok. Just have to make a straight-through adapter instead of the 90-degree monstrosity I built. :)

Hey Policar, where did you get that footage?

There is also 2 GG that comes with the Micro. Do you know which one was used on that?

I have been planning to build an adapter for my XL1s, but I'm wondering how things like the Mini35 work with that kind of camera. Do you have to attach it to the end of the canon lens, or do they make them so they go right into the camera?

I can't imagine having something sticking out of the canon lens any further, that seems ridiculous... Anyone know? If I were to build one myself, could I make it attach directly to the camera, and not through the lens?

ICED OUT!
