Rumor: An announcement will be made on October 27th.

Just a rumor I read on the DJI Phantom Owners' Facebook page.

I would like it to be true. We shall see.

Just on the back of Terrys thread

The phantom vision has received some minor upgrades but regarding the new machine:

HOT NEW DJI 4K CAMERA-EQUIPPED "TRIUMPH" COMING SOON

The Internet is absolutely full of rumors about the new DJI "Triumph" (code name). As one of DJI's Premiere Dealers and a DJI Factory Authorized Service Center, UAVDirect will receive the first shipments of this hot new machine. There has been no official product announcement, so we have compiled some consensus predictions below. Please note that these are only predictions and not statements of fact. One thing we do know for sure is that this will be a game changer. UAVDirect is accepting $100 no-risk refundable deposits to ensure you get one of the very first of this incredible aircraft. Official product announcement should come within 30 days, probably the middle of November and shipments shortly thereafter, so don't wait-- there's no risk to ensuring your place in line with a $100 refundable deposit.

- This will be a prosumer system, slotted well above the Phantom but just below the Spreading Wings Series, most likely around a 600MM prop span quadcopter

- All functions of the aircraft and camera system will be controlled by a revolutionary integrated touch screen-equipped controller

- Will most likely use an improved version of the DJI A2 Flight Control System

- Will be available with a proprietary integrated 4K camera on a 3D gimbal with a Lightbridge-like video link

- Will be a completely ready to fly system for prosumers and professionals, providing game changing performance, safety and ease of use at a ground breaking price

Again, all of the above are consensus rumors and not statements of fact.

UAVDirect.com issue this information in a marketing email earlier this week.

To my understanding, the information is mostly speculation at this point.

Something is out there, but DJI isn't disclosing anything publicly as yet.

More speculation I found online
Thou a little underwhelming considering the competition, I suspect / hope DJI have something much better waiting in the wings

Anyhow:

More from the rumour mill lifted off a DJI FB page:

Expected release of the DJI Inspire is 15/12/2014 according to the FCC document. The model nummer is T600 which means that the craft measures 60 cm across.
So this document actually confirms the rumours.

It's not a Phantom 3, it's a parallel product line.

Photos have been leaked today of a test flight, judging by the patent the body must lower in flight to take the props out of shot which is a nice idea.

Far more interesting is the hex in the background with redundant GPS pucks. Wonder what's up with that.
