View Full Version : My DIY Follow Focus

08-27-2005, 12:33 AM
I'm almost done with my follow focus, I have to put the indicator on the white and I will be done. I got a 90mm gear from a junk yard and cut the inside out so it could fit the dvx focus ring. I used a gear from my HP deskjet 810 printer I cannibalized for the turning gear. I built the rail system and pretty much got all the parts from the junk yard, cost around $50 in materials but took so long to build. But I am very happy with how it turned out, it works very well.

Here are some pics.

That cost you 50 bucks to make? Damn that's nice, I wish I could make something like that.

..id like to see it a little smaller and more snug to the camera before we see mass production, but im sure you could sell these very wel if they work as good as they look currently.

Nice job! Looks very professional. If it works as good as it looks, it you should be able to market it pretty easily -- if you have the time and are interesting in going in that direction.

Like 2 months, designing the thing took a lot of time!
