Heya, all. These are the pics of the mini dolly I built a couple of weeks ago to shoo the zombie short. It has yet to see real use :undecided (damn summer... thought it'd be perfect time to shoot anything; instead everyone is on vacations)

I chose this design over traditional platform for the tripod and dp, because I needed something small and compact for the night shoot in the woods  Total cost was about $15: Metal pieces, bolts, basically everything, but the wheels + paint. I had some old rollerblades laying around in the attic, so I just ripped the wheels from there. Plus, with the current wheel setup (vs skate wheels I was considering buying, because I didn't want to waste my own one... wouldn't be enough anyway) it can also ride on any flat surface quite smoothly. Cut it, screwed it together and painted myself over 2 days.

I have yet to buy the track though. Gonna use 2 1" pipes pieced together with some perpendicular planks (probably metal to add some weight). Kinda like ladder, but a decent ladder costs $120+ and with pipes I can also choose w/e lenght I need. I was thinking not more than 2 meters (6'?) - easy for transportation and storage and enough for effective looking slow tracking.

I'll be making a big one too a bit later, too or just buy some Glideshot off ebay. We'll see.

i had a very similar design in mind. i imagine that it's more difficult to pan, but it looks like a very effective and quick dolly.

Sweet design. I'll have to build one just because it's so easy and versatile.
